What's the point?

I have a few goals in mind with keeping this blog.
Being fit (mind and body) and being fancy, for starters. But, duh.
Staying on top of my house.
Being a generally better person.
Those are the main things that come to mind.

My friend, Emily, wrote a blog for awhile that had sort of these same things in mind. I'd be lying if I said she didn't heavily inspire me to make this shift in blogging. (She is no longer blogging, and I believe she wanted to keep it a little more private, or else I'd share.)
Basically her blog was about trying to attain "the woman who has it all" status.
In some sense, that is what I want. Obviously it's basically impossible (for me, I think). I won't kill myself to achieve this level of perfection, or anything. But I do think it's a nice, interesting goal.
Emily had a list of the things she thought of when she thought of this woman. I'm going to steal it, because I think it's a great list! (I plan to put this in my about page, eventually, and will probably add to it as time goes on!)

-looks pulled together
-in shape (and actually exercises)
-cooks complex, but not too snobby, dinners
-she's crafty for practical things
-super crafty for holidays
-throws one hell of a party
-spends quality time with her kids
-gets birthday greetings/thank you cards/gifts out on time
-goes all out for the holidays
-has a clean and decorated home
-keeps up with her friends
-has fresh nails
-always does her hair and makeup to the point wear you're sure she came out of the womb looking that fabulous
-has a fantastic and meaningful relationship with her husband
-reads books for fun
-is up to date on current events and the news

Right now, I am doing pretty well with the reading books for fun. That's about it.
Yep. It's true.
And man, I feel so down about that. So...it's time to work towards a change. I'm not waiting until the new year. I'm starting now!
